What's in your purse?

Dear You,

Youtube has a crazy insane amount of what’s in my purse videos, where girls reveal the entire contents of their bag to you and give you a long, long explanation of everything they carry. Everything. Sweet baby Jesus, it’s intense.

These girls don’t even carry purses - they carry LUGGAGE. They carry everything that they may possibly need for the next forty-million years.

My mind boggles at just how much these women/girls obviously think they need. Am I the only one who can contain everything I need for a day in a clutch/wristlet? For “every single day”?

Clutch, Strandbags Australia, $14.95.

Witness: my clutch. It's cute, it's simple, and it goes with most outfits. Sure, I have a whole collection of bags, but I like clutches and wristlets. It limits the amount of stress on my shoulders and means that I don't end up carrying a whole lot of useless crap with me.

Close up on the charm which, for Louise's benefit, is similar to my lemon quartz masterpiece of a necklace:

Nice. What can I carry in this baby? Let's take a look-see...

Phone. This one's a no-brainer. Note Patrick - real mature, right?

iPod. Equally as mature and covered in Nightmare Before Christmas stickers.

Ibuprofen. Just in case.

Compact. So that I don't spend all dya asking 'Do I have food in my teeth?'

Chapstick.

Eyedrops. Because when my contacts dry out I get headaches.

Nail file. Because I want long nails.

Keys. 'Cause getting locked out of my house (again) would suck.

Watch. I don't know why that was in there.

Cards. In case of jail term, if funding runs out or movie ticket needs.

Money. Because stealing isn't my forte.

Am I not female enough? Do I lack the hormones that make you put copious amount of stuff into your bag? Because those girls use insane amounts of stuff, to extents where I pause the video and go 'Surely she just shoved that in there for entertainment purposes?'...

Tell me what’s in your bag. My interest is peaked.

Love, CK

Finally, a comment. It's a struggle to wear a watch and a couple of bracelets on my wrist. I hate my arms feeling closed in so either shoulder bags, back packs or over the shoulder strap bags are perfect for me although I see your point about the stress issue. I probably carry too much but to me, it's all "essential". I'll definitely be doing my own "what's in your purse". How did the video turn out?
